Our center has the human and technical team needed to perform safe sedations and general anesthesia, both in dogs and cats.
Among the various anesthesia procedures performed at Guaita Veterinaris, the highlights include general inhalation anesthesia with isoflurane, local anesthesia, and the use of regional blocks. If necessary, we can perform surgeries with neuromuscular blockers and apply assisted breathing with a mechanical ventilator.
After the pre-anesthetic assessment, the most suitable sedation and/or anesthesia protocol and techniques will be chosen for each case. Depending on age or the pathology to be treated, the pre-anesthetic study may include blood tests, chest X-rays, electrocardiogram, or even an abdominal ultrasound.
From sedation to recovery, a veterinarian will constantly supervise the patient. For this purpose, we have non-invasive multiparameter monitoring: electrocardiogram, pulse oximeter, capnograph, non-invasive blood pressure monitor, heart rate, respiratory, and temperature monitor.
Moreover, pain control is one of our priorities, so we use the most suitable analgesic drugs and techniques in each intervention.
